James Chalmers (Ph.D. University of North Carolina). Associate Professor, Undergraduate Advisor. Political Theory, Normative Analysis of Public Policy. 


 

Professor Chalmers also has studied at Columbia and the University of Colorado at Boulder. He teaches normative issues in public policy and courses in political thought. His study of acts of violence by victims of injustice is entitled Violence and Oppression . Other publications include "American Liberalism and the Use of Force" in The Liberal Future in America and "Principles and Violence" published in Polity. Professor Chalmers is currently studying the justification of the unequal distribution of power, status, wealth and income.
