Mary Herring teaches courses in parties and elections, public opinion statistics, and gender politics. Her research, which focuses on the politics of race and gender, has appeared in the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, the Social Science Quarterly, the National Political Science Review and the Policy Studies Review. She is currently working on a study of the relationships between African-American group identity and political behavior.
