Professor Thompson (Ph.D. University of Texas) is Director of
the Center for Urban Studies in the College of Urban, Labor and Metropolitan
Affairs. Among other issues, he has studied interlocal
arrangements among cities in Southeastern Michigan, collaboration arrangements
in local and state government, and spatial mismatch of jobs and residential
locations. He teaches courses in program evaluation, urban
administration, Detroit politics, and Michigan politics.
