Read newspapers from this week. 
Find a problem in American politics that has some analogy  
in the society of Umofia in Achebe's Things Fall Apart.  
Write a tightly organized and succinct (2 page) paper that responds to the following:

• What is the problem  (i.e. the issue in the U.S. and the analogous issue in Umofia)?
• What similarities and differences can you find in how the two societies deal with their analogous problems?

• normal 1 inch margins,
• 10 or 12 point type,
• double space

Remember the basic rules for writing an essay:

• Make an argument
• Support your argument with details
• If it is not part of the argument or the supporting details, leave it out.
